Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle but powerful hands-on healing technique that helps to balance the human energy system and assist the body in repairing itself through deep relaxation and healing. It is extremely effective in helping to maintain health, reduce stress, and prevent illness by strengthening the immune system, and creating feelings of peace, security, and wellbeing. Reiki works on the body, mind, and spirit by stimulating a person’s own natural healing abilities.
Anyone can give Reiki after you are attuned to the energy.
Reiki level I is the introductory course to Reiki. You will learn how to access energy to heal, with the emphasis on self-healing. It covers the history of Reiki, it’s practical application and attunement to Reiki level one. You can use Reiki I to practice self-healing, and on pets, friends, and family. It does not qualify you to work as a practitioner or offer your services to the public.
If you choose to do Reiki II (and I hope you do, because it takes your energy to another level of healing), you will then have the option to offer your services to the general public. Of the 4 million people in the world who have trained in Reiki, only 1 million have gone on to become Reiki Masters – the majority of people use it to help themselves and their loved ones. Having said that, we will make sure requirements are met (such as gaps between levels and duration of classes) so you can choose to practice Reiki professionally later in life if you decide to do that.
Please allow 21 days between Reiki I & II when booking your dates.
Reiki level 2 teaches techniques to expand the energy beyond the body to develop spiritual awareness, finding a deeper sense of connection to all of life, and healing others. You will learn the first 3 Reiki Symbols and be attuned to use them (please note symbols are only of benefit if you are attuned to using them) to direct and invoke specific qualities of Reiki energy.
After attunement to Reiki level two, you are qualified to practice as a Reiki Practitioner, and offer your services to the public. If you decide to do this there are certain requirements that will need to be met to obtain memberships and insurance, including 21 days between Reiki 1 & 2, and a full 8-hour day of training for each. Even if you are not planning this currently, we will ensure the requirements are met so if you decide to do it later in life you won’t need to repeat the classes.
Each class will be $225, or $400 for both Reiki I & 2 if you book them at the same time.
They will run from 9am – 5pm, and you will need to attend the full day to receive your certificate.
I will be limiting each class to 4 people (a minimum of 2 people will be needed for a class to run).
Morning and afternoon tea provided.
You will have an hour for lunch, and there are several cafes within walking distance.
Reiki III can be attended 12 months after Reiki I. Reiki III runs from Friday night to Sunday morning at a coastal location (approx. 3 hours from Yass). It costs $400 + you will need to book accommodation (available in the same location) + bring your own food. There will be downtime each day so you can bring your family along to spend time with outside of the class times.
Whole Woman Workshop
Founded by Christine Kent and built upon a scientific framework of natural female growth and development, Whole Woman aims to recreate the structural framework upon which organ support depends.
While Whole Woman posture is at the heart of the Whole Woman work, several key Whole Woman exercises serve to restore flexibility to the spine, reposition the pelvic organs and strengthen the body to hold natural alignment, including Whole Woman Firebreathing, the Whole Woman Workout and Whole Woman toileting.
There is no magic cure, however with education, mindfulness, diet, and the Whole Woman techniques that protect the pelvic organs from the forces of intraabdominal pressure, you can prevent and manage symptoms many women experience as they get older - prolapse, urinary incontinence, chronic hip pain and vulva and vaginal symptoms.
At Whole Woman we believe all women can benefit from postural training, and if a woman has all her pelvic organs and is willing to put in the effort, most cases of prolapse can be positively affected. For younger women these changes can happen quite quickly, for older women it may take longer. This is not a one-off program, but a new way of life. Every time you are on your feet or in a sitting position, Whole Woman posture must be in place. And this needs to be supported with a high-quality diet, rest and other necessary lifestyle changes.
Workshops are held with small groups and by booking you agree to keep all conversations confidential. You will need to wear warm, comfortable clothing. Please bring a water bottle and a light snack. The workouts are very gentle movements and suitable for all levels of fitness.
If you are pregnant, postnatal, have had gynae surgery or a hysterectomy there will be some exercises you may not be able to do, and might find it takes longer to get results. Please contact me before booking if you would like to discuss your personal situation.
